Amina Lorenz

Amina Lorenz lives and works as a freelance film editor in Cologne (though she also loves being “on location” in other cities). She entered the film industry straight after finishing high school, working as a projectionist at an arthouse cinema. Her career goal became clear early on: film editing. It was her dream from the start. Amina began her career as an editor as a self-taught professional. After several assistant editing positions, she initially specialized in action editing. She devoted herself to this demanding discipline with great passion for many years. During this phase of her career, another passion emerged: sound design. Over time, she perfected this skill and now enriches every rough cut with carefully crafted soundscapes - an approach highly appreciated by directors. Beyond action and crime, she feels equally at home in all other genres and has edited numerous films and series with great enthusiasm. In 2025, she was nominated for the German Television Award in the category BEST EDITING – Fiction for Polizeiruf 110: Beyond the Law, directed by Dominik Graf.

Amina Lorenz lebt und arbeitet als freischaffende Cutterin in Köln (Sie liebt es aber auch sehr, in anderen Städten "auf Montage" zu sein). Ihren Einstieg in die Filmbranche fand Amina direkt nach dem Gymnasium als Filmvorführerin eines Arthouse-Kinos. Der Berufswunsch stand schnell fest: Filmmontage. Das war der Traum. Ihre Karriere als Cutterin startete sie als Autodidaktin - nach mehreren Schnittassistenzen - zunächst im Actionschnitt-Bereich. Mit großer Leidenschaft hat sie sich dieser anspruchsvollen Schnittdisziplin lange und gerne gewidmet. In jener Berufsphase kristallisierte sich noch eine weitere Leidenschaft heraus: das Sounddesign. Dies hat sie über Jahre perfektioniert und stattet seitdem nun jeden Rohschnitt großzügig mit den schönsten Tönen aus, was Regisseure und Regisseurinnen sehr zu schätzen wissen. Neben der Action-/Crime-Welt fühlt sie sich aber auch in allen anderen Genres zu Hause und hat bis dato mit großer Freude zahlreiche Filme und Serien montiert. 2025 wurde sie für Dominik Grafs "POLIZEIRUF 110 - Jenseits des Rechts" für den Deutschen Fernsehpreis in der Kategorie "BESTE MONTAGE - Fiktion" nominiert.
